HISTORY OF BAKER'S FLOORING SERVICE, INC.

Baker's Floor Service Inc. is a family owned and operated, fully Insured Floor Contracting, Specifying & Consulting Company that has been in business since 1976. Owner and CEO, Al Baker began the business after a long term relationship with a well known Southern New Jersey flooring company.  At its inception, Baker’s thrived in residential floor contracting for almost two decades.  The company then ventured into commercial opportunities that quickly exceeded all expectations.

 

Al has made a lot of friends along the way but none more important than Wayne Bracco. Al met Wayne at Richland Carpet in Southern New Jersey in 1975 and they have worked together ever since. Wayne is one of our two project managers and is an integral part of the company. Richland Carpet is still one of our customers to this day. 

 

In 1988 Al met his wife Cindy, Baker's Vice President, and welcomed her three children into his family along with his daughter Shelly. His son, Dalton joined the business and is the currently working as our 2nd project manager.  Dalton met his wife Lisa in 2002 and joined the company as a Project Coordinator. Shortly there after, given personal and business opportunities, Baker’s Flooring moved from Southern New Jersey to Islandia, Long Island.  

 

Baker’s Flooring Service, Inc. employees 20 associates.  These include three Master Mechanics who lead 5 crews.  All are under the direction or Project Managers who assist in the design, estimating and execution of work to be performed on the behalf of our clients.

We have formed many strong relationships over the years with flooring manufacturers. One key relationship is with Forbo which offers a broad and attractive range of environmentally friendly linoleum and high-quality vinyl floorings, chemical bonds and adhesives. Baker's flooring became a Flagship Dealer for Forbo in 2005.  Our Master Mechanics are officially certified by many manufacturers including Forbo, Altro, Armstrong and Nora Rubber to name a few.  Our installers are Ardex trained as well.

 

Over the past 17 years Baker’s Floor Service, Inc. has assisted a wide variety of corporate and retail accounts.  Although we are known for our expertise in the commercial arena, we are extremely proud of our work in the medical field including: hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, dental and medical offices.  We are also excited to offer our installation services Nationwide.  Our fleet of vehicles allows us to travel from the East Coast through the Midwest.  We have also provided installation services on the West Coast and Puerto Rico.
